England Saxons assistant Coach Andy Farrell is advising his players that discipline is the key to success against Russia in their opening match of this year's Churchill Cup.
Having already played USA, Russia will want to build on last weekend's performance against the hosts, where they were 15-14 ahead at half time, eventually losing 22-39.
And, Farrell knows they will want to show what they've learned against his Saxons tomorrow afternoon.
"I'm expecting Russia to see this as an opportunity, we've got to understand that and be disciplined in how we play." said Farrell.
"I'm sure we will give a good showing of ourselves in our first outing. I've watched Russia against Spain and I obviously watched them against USA, I think Steve Diamond has done a great job.
"They are well organised, they've got a great set-piece, they've got some big boys, who are quite aggressive and some talented individuals."
With only three days rest before the Saxons face hosts USA in their second match, preparation is crucial and with a squad full of promising young talent, it's the bond off the field as well as on it that makes a winning combination.
Farrell thinks his side has the right balance, "A lot of our preparation has been for the first two games, there's not much you can do in between the first and the second game as it's a short turnaround but I think we've got all bases covered." said Farrell.
"I've been very impressed with the players. It's nice to see the young lads coming into the dynamics of a squad with experienced guys like Phil Dowson (Northampton Saints) and all gelling together to be one.
"Our biggest strength is our collectiveness. All the camaraderie off the field will count for a lot on the field against Russia and we will try and build it from there."
The England Saxons face Russia on June 9 and hosts USA on June 13 in Denver, before heading to New Jersey for the finals day on June 19.
Kick off is at 10.00pm BST.
